Last Friday, we started to open the boxes of our advent calendar with the MS/GS group. What a wonderful way to learn to count up to 24!

Tea tasting
Last week, we had a tea tasting with the CM2s. Tea is the second most popular drink in the world. It was invented 4,700 years ago by the Chinese emperor, Shen Nung. Tea became popular in Europe in 1610. The most popular form of tea is the tea bag. It was invented by Thomas Sullivan, a tea and coffee merchant. One day, he decided to send samples of tea wrapped in little silk bags to his customers. Much to his surprise, when the orders arrived, his customers insisted that the tea be wrapped in these little silk bags. Each year, there are over 800 billion cups of tea consumed worlwide. In our class, we tasted (colour, smell, taste) many sorts of tea (Earl Grey, green tea, Oolong, Darjeeling, etc.) with a banana bread, we are now ready for a blind test!
